Leave empty to keep the existing compression behavior. Enter both pixel dimensions to resize exactly, after any crop; this may change the image’s proportions. A result below Minimum KB fails the check and links to the size-increase tool.

A small file with a readable signature

Some exam registration forms ask for a signature photo in the 10–20KB range and small pixel dimensions. A signature has fine black strokes rather than a face, so clarity matters: this mode favors high JPEG quality over forcing an unreadable result. Use this signature resizer when your form specifies both a file-size range and exact pixel dimensions. For a general photo with a 20KB limit, use Compress image to 20KB.

To compress signature to 20kb, start with a white-background screenshot or a well-lit image. Optionally crop excess space with a 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 frame before processing. Do not cut off pen strokes.

For signature resize in kb, compare the before-and-after image and read the actual output dimensions. Successful 20KB results stay below 19,500 bytes. Enter your form’s minimum KB and exact Width / Height in Optional form requirements above so the results can check them individually. Follow the background requirements on your form.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compress my signature to 10KB or 20KB?

Yes. Choose 10KB or 20KB, then select your signature image. We use decimal KB and a 500-byte safety margin, so successful results are at most 9,500 or 19,500 bytes. Signature mode prioritizes clean strokes with high JPEG quality.

How does the optional signature crop work?

Enable Crop before compression and choose a 2:1,3:1 or 4:1 ratio. After choosing an image, review the frame. Drag it or use the position sliders, then apply the crop. Check that every stroke stays inside the frame; ratios are presets, not a promise of acceptance by a specific exam.

What if the signature cannot meet the size without losing clarity?

We keep JPEG quality at 0.75 or higher and avoid shrinking a large signature below the clarity threshold just to meet a tiny cap. If the requested size cannot be reached, the result is marked as not meeting the target. Crop excess blank space or use a cleaner original and try again.

Is this a signature resizer?

Yes. It processes exam signature images by file size and pixel dimensions, with 10KB and 20KB upper-limit presets. If your form specifies a minimum size and exact pixels, enter them in Minimum KB and Width / Height under Optional form requirements. Results check each requirement separately.

How do I enter a minimum size?

Enter the lowest KB allowed by your form in Minimum KB. It must be below your selected upper limit and fit within the 500-byte safety margin. A result below that minimum is marked as failed, shows the actual size, and includes a link to the image size increase tool.

What pixel dimensions should I enter?

Use only the exact width and height printed on your form. Enter the width in Width (px) and the height in Height (px); both fields must be filled together. Leave both empty when you do not need exact dimensions. This page does not recommend specifications for any particular exam.
