Compress Image to 100KB Online
Your 100KB limit is ready. Choose one photo or a batch and download smaller JPGs. Everything is processed on your device.
Choose a limit. Results leave a 500-byte safety margin.
Before and after
Results list checks for file size, pixel dimensions and JPG format. A blank Minimum KB leaves the lower size limit unchecked; blank Width and Height leave exact pixel dimensions unchecked. Inspect the preview and follow your form’s background requirements.
Keep more detail within a 100KB limit
For an online application photo or scanned attachment with a 100KB maximum, resize image to 100kb and review the actual result before attaching it. Check any width, height and background requirements on the application itself.
To compress photo to 100kb, this tool adjusts JPEG quality and reduces excess resolution when needed. A successful result is at most 99,500 bytes, leaving a 500-byte margin below 100,000 bytes.
Before-and-after results show your original file size, final size and JPEG dimensions. A larger cap can retain more detail than 20KB, but compression cannot restore information missing from a blurred original.
Frequently asked questions
Will my 100KB photo keep its original dimensions?
If JPEG quality adjustments can meet the cap, dimensions can stay the same. If not, the image is resized proportionally. Each result lists its actual width and height so you can check your form’s rules.
What if my form requires a minimum size instead?
A maximum-size compressor reduces file size. For a minimum-size rule, use the homepage’s Increase image size in KB tool and check both the minimum and any maximum allowed by your form.
Why is my file still over the limit after compressing?
A successful 100KB result is at most 99,500 bytes. We use decimal KB (1KB = 1,000 bytes) and leave a 500-byte safety margin. A binary KB (1,024 bytes) allows more bytes, so that convention is more lenient. Check the actual byte count against the form’s displayed limit. If the result says Target not met, try cropping excess space or a larger allowed target. A form can also reject a file for its minimum size, pixel dimensions or format.
How many pixels is a 100KB photo?
There is no fixed conversion between KB and pixels. KB measures file size; pixels measure width and height. Photos with the same pixel dimensions can differ several times in file size because their content and JPEG quality differ. Read the actual output dimensions in your results and follow the separate pixel requirements shown on your form.
Should I use JPG or PNG for a form upload?
JPEG usually creates smaller files for photographs. PNG preserves sharp lines, text and transparency, but photographic PNG files can be much larger. Follow the format required by your form. This tool always outputs JPG and replaces transparency with white, so it is not suitable when a transparent background is required.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Your image is processed entirely in your browser. The photo or signature is not sent to a server; preview and download use local files on your device.
Can I also set a minimum size or exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. Enter a minimum KB and both Width and Height in pixels under Optional form requirements. Leave them empty to compress only to the target upper limit. When provided, the results check file size, pixel dimensions and JPG format individually and explain which requirement failed.
